About

Meet the Midwife

Hi, I’m Bryant Cassidy, a nationally Certified Professional Midwife, licensed to practice in the state of Texas, and community midwife based in Taylor.

I provide comprehensive prenatal care and homebirth services for communities within a 30-minute radius of Taylor, Texas including Hutto, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Manor, North Austin, the east side of Georgetown, Jarrell, Elgin, Coupland, Thrall, Thorndale, Rockdale, Lexington, Holland, Bartlett, Jonah, and Granger.

For the past 13 years, I have worked as a birth professional in homes, birth centers, and hospitals across six states in the U.S.: Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Florida, and Texas, as well as in the Philippines. My journey began in early 2012 as an apprentice midwife. In 2014, I spent several months at a mission-based birth center in the Philippines, where I attended numerous births and provided hundreds of prenatal, postpartum, and well-woman appointments. Upon returning to the U.S. in May 2014, I began my own homebirth practice in northeast Kansas.

As a passionate advocate for peaceful birth, I’ve personally experienced the transformative impact of excellent, dignified, and nurturing maternal care during my own pregnancies and births. This is the kind of care I want for every mother and baby I serve. My goal is to ensure that each client and family receives one-on-one, personalized attention, so that both mom and baby can enjoy the healthiest, happiest pregnancy and birth experience possible.

I have taught midwifery courses to student midwives in other states and continue to develop resources and tools to support midwives and students preparing to practice in delivering safe, respectful, and compassionate care to mothers and babies worldwide.

I am committed to expanding my knowledge in all areas related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum care, women’s health, and herbal medicine through continuing education. I also participate in community peer reviews with local midwives and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the area.

I’ve been married to my husband, Sean, since 2016. We have four children, ages 8 and under, and two angel babies in heaven. My first two children were born in hospitals due to health concerns, and the other two were born at home. We homeschool, raise animals on our homestead, garden, and are active in our local church.

Education and informed consent are central to the way I practice. I take time to ensure families have the information and guidance they need to make decisions that feel right for them and their babies. I deeply value and respect each mother’s autonomy and intuition, because I believe every woman deserves to be heard, trusted, and supported in her choices.

What is Midwifery Care?

Midwives respect childbirth as a natural and sacred process. Our philosophy is fundamentally different to traditional obstetric care, and prioritizes trust in the woman’s body, informed decision-making, and creating a caring environment that nurtures both mother and child.

Empowerment through education, respecting the mother’s choices, and minimizing unnecessary interventions all contribute to a healthier, more positive birth experience. This collaborative approach ensures that the mother feels supported, heard, and equipped to make decisions that are best for her and her baby. It’s a beautiful vision of maternity care; one that honors both modern knowledge and timeless wisdom.

As a midwife, I am committed to providing compassionate, woman-centered care. I see my role as a guide; bringing my skills, experience, and heartfelt presence. It is both an honor and a responsibility to create a safe, nurturing environment for women as they journey into motherhood. My goal is to support families by blending clinical expertise with the deep, intuitive knowledge that women have carried for generations. I strive to help each mother tap into her own inner wisdom, trust her body, and recognize that she is the expert on her baby. I offer evidence-based information, guidance, and when needed, consultations or referrals to specialized healthcare professionals, so that each client can make confident, informed decisions.

Holistic Prenatal Care

Holistic prenatal care is an individualized approach that supports the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of both mother and baby. It blends evidence-based care with natural, ancient, supportive practices; focusing on nutrition, emotional wellness, and avoiding unnecessary interventions. At its foundation is a deep trust and respect for a mother’s intuition, honoring her as the expert on her own body and baby.

At prenatal appointments I will monitor the baby’s growth, listen to the heartbeat, check maternal vital signs, perform any necessary lab work, provide nutritional and herbal guidance, and assess the mother’s physical and emotional well-being. We’ll also discuss resources for preparing for a natural labor and birth, and collaborate with or refer to other healthcare providers if needed. Evidence-based research and information on prenatal and newborn procedures will be provided to help clients make informed decisions.

Visits will be scheduled every 4 weeks from start of care until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks from 28 to 36 weeks, and weekly until birth. Each appointment lasts 30-60 minutes, giving ample time for questions, meaningful discussions, and addressing any questions or concerns the client or her family may have.

This personalized care fosters a trusting relationship between midwife and client, helping the mother approach labor and birth with confidence, safety, and peace of mind.

Peaceful Labor & Birth Care in Your Home

And when her labor was at its hardest, the midwife said to her, “Don’t be afraid!”

Genesis 35:17

Home birth offers many benefits, including autonomy, freedom of movement, choice of birthing positions, and the ability to eat and drink during labor. It also reduces the risk of infection and disease, minimizes complications, and avoids unnecessary exams or interventions. There are no time constraints for the normal labor and birth process, allowing for respectful, individualized care with empowering and encouraging support. Home birth fosters trust in your body’s natural ability to give birth and creates a physiologically supportive environment for early bonding and healthy breastfeeding in a peaceful, private setting free from disruptions and distractions.

I maintain a hands-off, non-interventive approach,

while staying attentive and available for support or encouragement, if needed.

My role is to offer nurturing support, guidance, and trust in the mother’s physiological ability to give birth. Throughout labor, I discreetly monitor the well-being of both mother and baby, while allowing the birth to progress naturally at its own pace. I always ask for permission before performing any procedures and explain each step to the mother and family. When the time comes for delivery, she is free to give birth in whatever position feels most natural and comfortable to her.

After the birth, I assess the newborn’s APGAR score and perform a full examination, including checking weight, length, reflexes, and ensure breastfeeding is established. I also monitor the mother’s vitals, check for any tears and suture if needed, assist her with showering if she wishes, and prepare something nourishing for her to eat and drink. Before my assistant and I leave, usually 2-3 hours after birth, we make sure both mother and baby are happy, healthy, and stable. We’ll provide any final instructions, help settle the family into bed for some well-earned rest, clean up, start the laundry, and quietly see ourselves out.

Nurturing Postpartum Care

My focus during the postpartum period is to nurture and support the whole family as they adjust to life with a new baby, through guidance, skilled clinical care, and resources to ease the transition and help ensure a healthy, joyful fourth trimester.

I offer comprehensive postpartum care for mother and newborn through the first six weeks after birth. This includes in-home visits during the first two weeks, followed by office appointments through week six. I remain available by phone for any questions or concerns that arise along the way.

Newborn care includes screenings for congenital heart defects and metabolic conditions, monitoring of weight gain and general wellness, ongoing feeding support, completion and filing of the birth certificate, and referrals to pediatric or specialist care if needed.

Care for the mother includes monitoring vital signs, recovery progress, healing, breastfeeding, emotional and mental well-being, rest, nutrition, supplements, adequate support, and providing other resources or referrals to pelvic floor therapy, lactation consultants, or other providers if needed.
